We exist to assist families and individuals with developmental disabilities by providing support, information and advocacy. Our goal is to help build a community that includes and values people with disabilities. For over 50 years our programs and efforts have been focused on improving the awareness and quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities. We encourage you to explore our website and learn more about what we do and how we help. If you like what you see and share our values, please join us and become involved in our efforts to make a difference in the lives of persons with disabilities.
In 1954 the Arc of Livingston* was established by a group of parents from Livingston County who were seeking alternatives other than state institutions to provide support for their children with developmental disabilities.
Mission
The Arc of Livingston exists to empower persons with developmental disabilities and their families to ensure that they as citizens are valued, and that they can participate fully in and contribute to the life of their community.
Vision
The Arc of Livingston is dedicated to improving the quality of life for all people and to decreasing the incidence of disabilities. We believe that participation in community life is essential to the well being of every person; and that with the right assistance and support, people with developmental disabilities can and will be contributing, valued members of the communities in which they live. |
